Chiefly Speaking

Brothers,

Can you believe we are almost at the completion of three months out of the 2010 year so far? We have accomplished a lot already and are working and planning even more!

Within the past three months, the lodge has held its Winter Banquet at the Morris VFW in January with well more than 100 people in attendance. The Aschewagon Chapter planned and provided a fun and energetic night as the lodge officers were sworn in and the New Year was kicked off.

In the weeks since the Winter Banquet, both our chapters, Aschewagon and Allohak Alluns, have been putting their time and effort into Cub Scout Crossover Ceremonies as we have scheduled over thirty bridging ceremonies. In addition to the thirty plus Cub Scout Ceremonies, the chapters have been planning their Spring Camporees for their respective Districts.

I would like to take the time to thank all of the Arrowmen who have volunteered their time for cheerful service whether to serve on the Cub Scout Crossover Ceremony team, planning the Spring Camporee, serving on a unit election team, or helping out in anyway. You have represented the lodge and the council in a superior manner while serving others.

As a lodge we have high aspirations for the upcoming months as we set out to meet our goals. The first goal the lodge has set is to exceed the standards that would recognize our lodge as a quality lodge. We are well on track to quality lodge with our unit election process and our service to our council and community, but it must be a lodge effort to exceed all the requirements. One of the main challenges is to have 30 percent of Ordeal members seal their membership in our lodge by completing their brotherhood. So if you are interested in completing your Brotherhood you can at the Spring Fellowship.

Furthermore, we are energizing the principle of cheerful service to our camp as well. The lodge participated in the March Beaver Day clean up and our Spring Fellowship will help get parts of camp set up for the summer. Look in this issue of the Netopalis for your registration form. The lodge is also working on organizing a One Day of Service to give back to the community outside of just our camp.

With all these new and exciting ideas I firmly believe that the continuation of this year will only result in greater accomplishments. On a closing note, I encourage you to routinely check out our website every month to note the current information and the new features that are being added. You can view our website at www.waupecanlodge.com. The success of the lodge does not lie in just one person’s hands, but the hands of many. I hope to see you at a lodge event soon!

2010 Lodge Chief,
Matt Jeslis
